About Us

FiWe

About

FiWe (pronounced "Fye-We") comes from the first two letters of Financial Wellness. FiWe is a screen-free financial literacy curriculum company based in New York City. We build tactile, hands-on workbooks and programs for school classrooms, giving every student the tools to understand money through touch, play, and real-world connection.

FiWe exists not because financial literacy content doesn't exist, but because the right resources don't. We understand a teacher's frustration of having to piece together YouTube videos, worksheets, and downloads from various sources just to put together a decent teaching structure for the classroom. We built a complete, structured program so teachers don't have to. Everything a classroom needs is in the box. Everything a teacher needs, all organized.

Our curriculum is vetted and recommended by NYC Public Schools, standards-aligned with math and social science crosswalks, and used by over 100 schools reaching 20,000+ students. We are MWBE certified.

Give it a try. We are confident you will love it, just like our many students, teachers, and administrators already do.

Financial Literacy Grades by State

Looks great, right? Wrong. Many states with perfect grades only reflect that mandates are in place. It does not indicate implementation. Schools across the grade spectrum are struggling to find quality curriculum. FiWe is helping with that.

Meet the Creator - Tanu Rishi, CFA

Tanu spent years in finance and management consulting, working alongside professionals who excelled in their fields in New York City. But she noticed something surprising. Highly capable friends and colleagues were making poor financial decisions. Financial literacy was never part of their learning journey.

When a professor asked her to write a paper on financial illiteracy for a business journal, the research resulted in an epiphany: personal finance education has been absent from the entire education system. Neither schools nor colleges teach us anything about money management. The paper remains unfinished, but FiWe was born. First as a passion project, then as a mission.

Tanu brings her consulting background to build a structured, organized program, effectively identifying what schools and teachers actually need and reverse engineering the program from that. Her years in finance make for high-quality, practical content that reflects how money actually works.

Her commitment to screen-free learning is personal. Stepping away from screens and social media sharpened her own focus and clarity, and reading from physical books deepened her learning and retention in ways that e-readers never did. That experience is baked into everything FiWe builds.

Tanu holds an MBA in Finance and is a CFA Charterholder.
